Thank you for joining us here to commemorate the life of David John Lamb of Brentwood, Essex.
My Dad loved the seaside and many years ago chose the RNLI as his charity.
I think he did this because he never learned to swim and thought he could help others who found themselves in peril on the sea.
All donations will fund lifeboats, rescue equipment and training for the thousands of volunteers who crew the 238 lifeboat stations around the UK. You will help to save lives at sea.
Dad used to say he wanted a traditional 'Viking funeral' like Kirk Douglas got at the end of one of his favourite films, 1958's 'The Vikings'. I did actually look into seeing if this was possible. Unfortunately health and safety won't allow us to shoot flaming arrows at a replica Viking longship, floating out to sea. Which is a shame as he would have loved that. However I picked out this page design as a nod to that request.
If you would like to make a donation or contribute by sharing any memories of a lovely man, that would be wonderful.
Love
Darren, Lauren, Rosie and Will
